Everybody loves a night out at the movies with friends or someone special, but we don’t love paying $10 each ticket, plus snacks! Solution: Chicago Park District’s “Movies in the Parks”! Parks throughout the City of Chicago bring in large screens and feature a movie. All you need to bring is yourself! Of course, you are welcome to bring blankets, lawn chairs, snacks, a picnic spread, even wine!
I’ve been going to Movies in the Parks for years, especially when I worked downtown near Grant Park. Past features have included The Day the Earth Stood Still, Sunset Boulevard, Grease, and other classic and current movies. Here’s this year’s lineup:

I Just Want to be Outside 
I’ll bet Grease was great to watch on the outside screen, the perfect movie for that location.
Wow I feel old, last went to “movies in the park” as a young teen. For some reason they just stopped them in Jo’burg, South Africa. Thanks for sharing.
